You may not have heard of it, but Artcurial is the largest French-owned auction house.
Since moving in 2002 to a beautiful, historic stone building - the Hôtel Marcel Dassault - two steps from the Champs Elysées, they now have a small café and an extensive bookshop specialising in design, photo, art, graphics etc. The décor, remodeled by Jean-Michel Wilmotte, has to be seen to be believed: original baroque details painted over in purple!
Looking round is free, so don't hesitate to go and see.
Alain Bernardin founded the Crazy Horse Saloon in 1951, drawing creative inspiration from American striptease.
An institution for night owls, the Crazy Horse Saloon is know for its teasing but tasteful topless dancers, and has been carefully renovating its image over the last few years, with guest spots by stars such as Carmen Electra, Dita Von Teese and Pamela Anderson.
A succession of sassy and glamorous images, Desires combines chic and sensual. Zula Zazou, Jade Or, Psykko Tico or Nooka Karamel will take you into an universe where aesthetics is sometimes combined with humour without ever abandoning the codes of the house.
