Few names in fashion conjure the same aura as Versace. A veritable dynasty of luxury goods, a family story that would make a great Hollywood movie, and the extensively nipped and tucked Donatella. Drama and decadance... no other fashion brand comes close.

Gianna Versace founded the brand in the 1970s in Italy with his sister Donatella, who now runs the company together with her daughter.

The brand's meteoric rise now puts it as one of the most famous fashion brands in the world, with celebrity fans such as Madonna, Sir Elton John and Princess Diana helping to cement its reputation.

Although they have stores all round the world, perhaps the best one to visit would be on avenue Montaigne. The chicest brand on the the chicest street in the chicest city in the world? Quite possibly...
