Carte Blanche for Jayashree Chakravarty

Earth as Haven: Under the Canopy of Love

“Earth as Haven: Under the Canopy of Love” is a new exhibition that takes place at the Musée national des arts asiatiques – Guimet (MNAAG) from October 18th, 2017, until January 15th, 2018, and that is dedicated to a masterpiece created by the contemporary artist, Jayashree Chakravarty.

Being the 5th carte blanche organized by the museum, the exhibit puts on display a fascinating work of art that was made by Chakravarty, particularly for this occasion.

Cotton, leaves, branches, weeds, sterns, Nepalese paper, aluminum, and more, all of these materials were creatively and cleverly used by the artist to produce a unique and magnificent piece that illustrates the world of insects and its outstanding secrets.

Boasting a selection of some of the finest Asian artworks, Musée Guimet is without a doubt one the museums that you don’t have to miss visiting in Paris. Besides, this exhibit is truly one-of-a-kind as it presents for the first time an organic artwork in the museum.
