Takashi Murakami has never been one to shy away from bold statements and concepts. His work draws us in with his bold use of colour, cartoon-ish imagery, and Kawaii effects. Then we see the darker elements and themes associated with his work. This bold contrast and shock value showcase why his work is such a great fit for the In Tune with the World exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris. His series entitled “The Octopus Eats Its Own Arm” is part of Sequence A, in a show that deals with the idea of man’s ties to the natural and man-made world.

Sequence B continues this idea with a series of works under the theme of “Man in the Living Universe”. Here visitors can explore key works over three floors, comparing images from 28 leading international artists. This is the first time that many have been housed under the same roof.

This thought-provoking show runs from the 11th of April until the 27th of August.
