Getting to Know Picasso's Magic Paintings

Exhibition at Musée Picasso

from the 2019-10-01 until the 2020-02-23

Those that are less familiar with the work of Picasso may have just a few images in mind. They perhaps haven’t seen the breadth of his work and the way that he truly played with form and lines over his lifetime. That is why collections like the Magic Paintings exhibition at the Paris Musée Picasso are so important.

This show brings together a series of work from a short period in the 1920s. Viewers get to compare the work to see how his mind considered the forms of extra-occidental art and then reinterpreted it in his own creations. It is a chance to see another side of the artist’s work and the precursor to his Cubist offerings. It is also a chance to see where he was at in his life because of the use of broken furniture instead of canvases.

You can see the work at the gallery until the 23rd of February. Make the most of it while you can.
