An exhibition celebrating 120 years of the cinema of Lumiere brothers
from the 2015-03-27 until the 2015-06-14
The year 2015 marks the 120th anniversary of the invention of the Cinematograph Lumière. An epic told for the first time through a unique exhibition that opens at the Grand Palais.
As part of the 120 years of the cinema, the Grand Palais from March 27 "Light! The invented cinema," an event dedicated to the exhibition Lumière brothers. Movies, documents, posters and antiques gathered for this exhibition, which will close on June 14
The film collection is registered in the Memory of the World by UNESCO.
Filmmakers and film fans from March 27 to June 14 the exhibition "Light! The invented cinema "is unveiled at VIP Lounge of the Grand Palais in Paris. The Cinematograph festival in 2015 its 120 years: the opportunity to discover a new exhibition dedicated to the pioneers of cinema inventions, the Lumière brothers organized by the Institut Lumière.
A cinematic journey between Lyon and Paris starting in 1895, tracing the history of Cinematograph and work of Louis and Auguste Lumière. We owe course the Cinematograph; a revolutionary machine that allowed to film, make copies and to project, but also Autochrome, the advent of color photography and Photorama, the projection of 360 photographs.
This event is also an opportunity to see in a new light the 1500 Lumière films that tell in pictures Technical epic, artistic and industrial is cinema but also reflect the society of the early twentieth century.
After the Grand Palais, the exhibition will move to Italy, Russia, the United States, Canada, Argentina, Korea and Brazil before finishing his journey to the new Confluence Museum in Lyon.
